Author’s Biography:

A native of Iran, Ali Alavi came to America in 1995 as an international student. He wrote The Autumn of Traces and Enchantment  when he was a graduate student at the University of Southern Maine in  Portland. He is currently an academic chairperson. He divides his time  between his profession and writing. He is the author of two other books  of fiction, namely The Lady of Moulin Rouge and Last Christmas in  Tehran. He lives in Washington, DC.

Book Synopsis:

A kidnapping case, a ghostly apparition and an amulet that opens a gate to the realm of the uncanny embroils  aspiring novelist, Christopher Wayne, in the mysterious disappearance of local prostitutes. His pursuit for the missing girls takes him on a  riveting adventure down the back streets of Boston where he visits  churches and brothels, searching for evidence, only to find the missing  girls were abducted by an escaped psychopath who has imprisoned them in  the dungeons of the old mansion on the island where he lives,  practically in his own back yard.

This novel is a testimony to the support of unseen forces present with any of us, who seek a connection to a power greater than  ourselves.
